Frequently Asked Questions
We DO NOT offer short term insurance policies.
The Overland Water Endorsement will cover losses resulting from damage to your property caused by freshwater entering from the ground level. This includes damage due to excessive rain, overflowing rivers, spring runoff, and melting snow. It only takes a few inches of water to cause thousands of dollars worth of damage to your property. Is Overland Water different from Sewer Backup? Yes. Sewer Backup Endorsements cover damage caused by the backup of sewers, septic tanks, downspouts, and eaves troughs. This coverage will come into play if your sink, tap or toilet overflow into your property. If I have Overland Water Coverage, does that mean I have Flood Coverage? No. Flooding is defined as coming from a body of saltwater. Any “flooding” caused by a body of saltwater such as a tidal wave, or tsunami are still excluded from Insurance Policies. Overland Water Coverage applies to freshwater “flooding” through heavy rainfall and rising rivers within Alberta.
I’m just renting, do I need Overland Water Coverage? Yes.
Whether you’re located on the 15th floor, or the ground level this coverage is right for you. Do you have items in storage? Have you ever added up all of your valuables? In the event of a freshwater flood, you could lose all of your contents to water damage. This could be thousands of dollars, down the drain so to speak. It will also work in conjunction with your Tenant’s Policy to help pay for replacement, accommodations, and cleanup. As Aviva says, Water is beautiful until it isn’t. For more information please contact your broker directly, our main line at 403-770-4949 or Aviva’s Website Here for more info.
In the simplest terms, the majority of your premium is used during the prime riding months of the year. If you were to cancel your policy in the winter most likely your premium has been used up, no credit will be available and your bike would no longer be covered (which isn’t the safest option). Below is a Basic Short Rate Cancellation table for Motorcycle Insurance :
- How to calculate your cancellation amount:
Take your total Annual Premium and each month used up is worth a percentage of that total.
- How much have you used:
Calculate the amount you have paid over your monthly payments, or total if you paid in full. The different would be owed to the insurance company if you have underpaid, or owed back to you if you have over paid. Best practice is to give us a call, as cancelling your Motorcycle Insurance each season, and re writing it again in the new riding season will result in having no coverage for your bike, and could have a fee associated when re writing again.
Depending on your coverage many of our companies offer the ability to cover rental vehicles. If you’re traveling give your broker a call before you go, and they will let you know your specific options.
If you are a client being financed through 6 Degrees we require up to 5 days to stop or hold payments and all transactions will be confirmed by phone or email. Contact our in house Financial Specialist if you need any assistance:

We strive to provide you with the most accurate quotes, but that starts with being provided with all of the information upfront. If you’ve had any tickets within the past 3 years please let us know. As a policy written with undisclosed tickets will always come back higher than previously quoted, and payment schedules will have to be revised, or the policy could be denied entirely by the company we placed you with.

We are working towards becoming a more (almost fully) paperless company. We have the ability to sign documents electronically, this means we can get you a new policy from start to finish with just the click of a button. We do not send out policy documents from our office, instead we leave that up to the company.
We also have our own client interface where you can collect, send and download your policy documents and pink cards 24/7. Check out all of the details here, and access your account!

Absolutely, we have some amazing companies that will cover your vehicle when traveling throughout the USA. So next time you go to visit your Aunt Mae in Florida, you can concentrate on Bingo and not have to worry about your vehicle’s coverage. As long as you’re an Alberta resident, we can keep your coverage active!
We are an Alberta wide brokerage, and unfortunately do not currently insure outside of our province. If you’re planning on moving here, make sure you have the correct documents, the cowboy boots, however, are optional. If you’re an Alberta resident, but travel for work, or will be away for an extended period of time for schooling, etc please contact us to discuss your options.
Registration and Insurance are separate in Alberta and we suggest getting abstracts and experience letters from your prior Province or Country to make sure that we can get you the best rate available!
